Master the Art of Mechanical Transmission System Design

In the world of mechanical engineering, the efficient and reliable transmission of power is fundamental. From the gearbox in your car to the complex drives in industrial machinery, transmission systems are the unsung heroes of motion. If you're an engineering student or professional looking to build deep expertise in this critical area, a comprehensive course from a premier institution is invaluable.

We are excited to highlight the NPTEL course, "Design of Mechanical Transmission Systems," offered by the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras). This meticulously structured 12-week program is led by an expert in the field and is designed to take you from fundamental concepts to advanced design practices.

About the Course Instructor: Prof. Ramkumar P

The course is taught by Prof. Ramkumar P, an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Madras. With a stellar academic and research background, Prof. Ramkumar is the ideal guide for this subject.

  • Qualifications: B.E. (Anna University), M.Tech. in Industrial Tribology (IIT Madras), Ph.D. in Engine Tribology (University of Southampton, UK), and Post-Doctoral Fellowship (University of Leicester, UK).
  • Expertise: Over 16 years of teaching and research experience in tribology and mechanical design.
  • Accolades: Recipient of the IMechE Best Presentation award for his Ph.D. work.
  • Research Output: Authored more than 35+ papers in peer-reviewed journals and 50+ international conference proceedings, along with a patent.

Who Should Enroll?

This course is perfectly suited for:
